Who is Charles?
I consider myself an avid outdoorsman, perpetual tinkerer, and DIY enthusiast. I graduated with a Management of Information Systems Bachelors Degree from the University of Georgia in 2018, and with a Masters of Business Administration from Auburn University in 2023.
I've always liked building things and have a side project called: Chuck Builds. I hope to cover my DIY, Smart Home, and Self-Hosting projects over there and on my Youtube Channel. I hope to expand this channel to include accessibility automations for folks who have mobility issues within their own home as well as provide resources for lay individuals to stand-up professional solutions easily and cheaply.
I've always enjoyed volunteering and have had a long list of involved organizations through the years including: Hospice, Delta Phi Men's Service, American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, Children's Miracle Network, UGA HERO's , and Alpha Tau Omega.
Most recently in Dallas, TX, I’ve been actively involved with the Vickery Place Neighborhood Association (VPNA) Board, first as a Member at Large, then as Secretary, and now serving as President. Vickery Place, one of Dallas' oldest neighborhoods, was designated a Conservation District (CD14) in 2006, preserving its unique historical character and community identity.
As President, I’m focused on modernizing our processes and updating business practices to ensure VPNA runs efficiently, with reduced costs and streamlined efforts. I've led initiatives to introduce tools and systems that bring our organization into the modern era while preserving the legacy and spirit of Vickery Place. My mission is to create a lasting impact, enabling future generations to seamlessly support and enhance our community’s conservation efforts. This has given me the opportunity to work with our city's leaders to protect the interests of the neighborhood while also working to preserve the culture and community of a historic neighborhood in a large metroplex. I represent 1200 homes and their owners, coordinate board meetings and general meetings, secure sponsorships, plan events, and help manage our financial responsibilities.

Additionally, I've been volunteering with the Coastal Conservation Association - Dallas Chapter as an Executive Board Member. In this role I am helping with fundraising, event planning, and recruiting.
